New Additions: Trash To Treasure album by Templeton
Calling this a "New Addition" is sort of a cheat. I bought this album when Templeton had their CD release way back in 1999. But of course, like so many others, this was lost in my massive CD purge of the early 2000s when I converted everything to MP3s. Of course, a dumb mistake on my part. Luckily, years later, I tracked down the Derailleur Records release, and I'm glad I did. This was always one of my faves from the era - Christian Hurd has a knack for lyrics and hooks and the band has the right combo of raw/loose and precise/tight.

New Additions: Marveline album by The Velveteens
Although I got to check them out a number of times in the 1999 to 2001 period, I never actually picked up a copy of The Velveteens '99 album Marveline released on Derailleur Records. That was recently rectified, and happily so, as the haunting vocals combo of Amy and Meagan Alwood was quick reminder how unique and special this band was for the time. Like so many CD-only releases at the turn of the century, this one is missing from streaming services, so you'll need to grab a physical copy to hear it.

HotBands.com: Bob City Album Review
It's often difficult to track down late 90s/early 00s music reviews thanks to so many fan run sites and blogs going offline if they were actually using Blogger. Luckily a few have survived, like this one from Hotbands.com circa 2000 reviewing the album released on Derailleur. Here's a bit of the review:
Their self-titled CD release, Bob City, is hard-drivin, hard-rockin blues/metal...kind of a collision of AC/DC and Motorhead. Dual-guitar shredding, thumping bass and driving drums lay down the groundwork for lead vocalist Justin Tesa's raw screaming vocals.
The first song on the CD "Boystown", is a rocker that should be listened to with the volume on 11! What can I say? These guys totally kick ass! I remember listening to AC/DC, Nazareth, Motorhead and the like back in high-school, and Bob City would have fit in perfectly with my collection!
Their songs all had great hooks, and kept my interest. Although it's a bit hard to understand the lyrics (and they weren't printed on the CD), I was able to pick up enough to get a kick out their attitude. It gives the listener a chance to see the world through the eyes of a 20 year old.

New Additions: The Best Of Times? by Salt Horse
This one is kind of a lie. You see, I actually bought The Best Of Times? by Salt Horse back when it came out in 2001 on Derailleur. I was a big fan of the label, and picked up almost everything the put out. However, like so many in the mid-2000s when MP3s came along, I dumped a lot of my CD collection at record stores and tried to go fully digital. It didn't last, and I've rebuilt some of my collection. It also coincided with me being occasionally not well off financially at times, and needing to pay bills. I was able to grab this at one of the Columbus record stores recently, so now I've bought it twice, which is okay with me, because it rocks. Excuse me, RAWKS. The production is still exceptional, and I'm just a sucker for wise-crackin' hard rock that has an Rated-R/Songs For The Deaf era Queens Of The Stone Age vibe.

New Additions: Present The... Night Of The Dragon Lady by The Jive Turkeys
There is obscure, and then there is OBSCURE. Take this release - the 1997 seven inch Present The... Night Of The Dragon Lady by The Jive Turkeys released on Alamount Black Records. I found this at Lost Weekend Records digging through one of the seven inch boxes in the back and was caught off guard. While the band has very little online presence, I knew from memory they had released an album in 2001 called Sounds from the Idiodyssey on Derailleur, as well as a release a few years later called Seis Sonidos. Though were on Discogs when I bought this (I fixed that), this one was completely new to me. I haven't been able to track down either of the other releases (yet!), this one will have to do for the moment to get my Jive Turkeys fix.
